Hey y’all! 2019 was one of the busiest years we have ever had (in the best way of course!) We traveled to exciting new places, created hundreds of bouquets, and got to serve some of the sweetest couples and families. We are so excited to update and show you exactly what we have been up to for the last year. Our first wedding of 2019 was in one of our favorite places in Alabama – Pursell Farms. The most lovely hues of lavenders and rich greens from the linens and soft seating to every last flower – this design was incredibly fun to create. We loved designing their beautiful cake backdrop and unique stage front design. Our hearts flutter when a bride comes in wanting to incorporate color in her big day and I can’t imagine a more perfect turn-out for this January wedding.
Hey there friends! Welcome back to Proposals, Planning, and Posies! This week, Anna is giving yall a little inside info on planning a wedding with a shorter engagement. I hope you brides to be whose wedding day is fast approaching will find this post super helpful!
Meet Kayla, the bride who had Crystal and I doubled over in laughter at every single meeting. She and Dustin got married on April 14, 2018 at Pursell Farms in Sylacauga, Alabama. It poured cats and dogs but nothing could rain on Kayla and Dustin’s parade. The joy that these two had on their wedding day was undeniable. Check out all of their photos below to see exactly what we are talking about. And notice that even Plan B can become “Plan Beautiful.”

Hey friends! Welcome back to my engagement series. Wedding day is coming up so soon, I cannot believe it! As far as planning on my end goes, I’m so excited and I’m finally starting to be able to check most things off my to-do list. The most recent thing I’ve done is finished up my registry. I started making my registry almost right away and it took me a long time to finish just because I had no idea what to put on it! There are so many options out there and it can be a little overwhelming, especially without a checklist or guideline to go off of. To make all of you brides-to-be lives a little easier, I created a little registry checklist that I so wish I had before I did my own. You can download it here, and I hope it helps you to see the best things to add to your own list! I also added a few favs of my own below.
A few of my favorite, must-have registry items…
1. Le Creuset Cast-Iron Dutch Oven
This classic Dutch Oven is the perfect addition to any kitchen! It is so practical and you will have it for years and years to come.
2. Pottery Barn Cozy Pom Pom Throw
Not only does this adorable throw come in a bunch of gorgeous neutral colors, it is perfect to curl up in front of the fire with. Plus, it’ll look beautiful draped over any chair or sofa.
3. Pottery Barn “Snuggle” Pillow
Because who doesn’t love a cute throw pillow??
4. Kate Spade Tea Kettle
A tea kettle is a must for any kitchen, especially when it looks this cute!
5. Anthropologie Gold Accent Mug
This mug comes in two gorgeous patterns and when you’re not drinking some yummy coffee out of it, it’ll look so pretty displayed on a shelf.
6. Williams-Sonoma Shatter Resistent Platter
This beautiful natural marble platter is not only shatter resistant, it can also be personalized! It also comes in a really pretty wooden version.
Cheers to love and having a great week friends!!
Today we are so excited to share Katie and Almon, precious high school sweethearts who tied the knot February 17, 2018. This month marks five months of marriage, cheers to that and to many many more! Katie runs a stationery business called Ink Sugar where she creates the most beautiful custom wedding invitations and hand dyes gorgeous silk ribbon, so all of the stunning paper details you see (including THE cutest coozie featuring their pup Rhett — all the heart eyes,) yep, they were designed by the bride herself! The serene white Chapel at the Waters was the perfect setting for their winter (but felt more like late spring – gotta love Alabama weather right?) wedding.
Happy Friday friends! Gracing you with part two of Proposals, Planning, and Posies for Anna and Sam’s upcoming wedding. This week, Anna is giving y’all a little insight on starting the whole planning process, especially what to look for when picking your vendors! She even made y’all a little freebie timeline to help keep track of your planning month by month so be sure to check it out if you are sporting a new sparkle on that finger.
Hey there friends! We’ve had some exciting things happening over here at Southern Posies. Two of our very own sopo gals, Anna and Katie, got engaged this year (yay!) and both spending all summer planning for their upcoming weddings! So this summer and fall, we want to do a fun new series for you called Proposals, Planning, & Posies where both Anna and Katie will take us step-by-step on both of their planning journeys. This will be a perfect peek to what our planning and design process is like, all the way from the time you get engaged to after your wedding day. We hope this little series gives all you brides-to-be some good tips, tricks, and advice for your own celebration.
