Real Wedding: Alexandra & Ben

Meet Alexandra – our stunning bride who has the most beautiful classic style. She is an interior designer in Nashville and has an amazing eye for design. She wanted her wedding reception to feel like her guests were coming into her house and sitting down at her table to have a meal together. She chose a full seated dinner for that reason. Guests sat under a gorgeous white tent filled with string lighting and surrounded by the lush green grounds at Pursell Farms. Alexandra chose shades of garden green and creams and whites in flowers and decor that truly complimented the surroundings.

During my time in Birmingham I worked as a stylist/decorating editor for a couple of magazines, and am currently an interior designer in Nashville, so when it came to planning our wedding it was really important that it felt like us, almost like welcoming someone into our home.

Alexandra wanted a whimsical detailed design with a mix of flowers and beautiful script typeface for her invitation suite and Virginia Hart brought her A game to this suite. The calligraphy for the addresses was truly a work of art (as you can see below.) The envelopes were lined with a lovely custom flower illustration that we carried over to the seating chart.

We worked with Virginia Hart on all of our wedding paper goods and went for a design that felt like a spin on a really traditional wedding invitation, very ornate but with a more whimsical design and calligraphy style. The illustration included all of the flowers that would be used throughout the wedding day: gardenia, peonies, ranunculus, etc.

Alexandra wanted her ceremony to take place at a site that had not been used prior to this at Pursell Farms called Outback Hill. It overlooked a picturesque valley and felt secluded and intimate. After the ceremony, guests were shuttled back to Hamilton Place where they dined under a big beautiful white tent.
