Lindsay and Kyle were married on April 15, 2017 at The Chapel at The Waters on a beautiful spring afternoon. This couple invented the word fun and their day was truly a celebration of their love for each other. Also, their story is the cutest! Captured beautifully by the talented Holland Williams Photography, here is a peek into their special day.

How did you two meet?

Our story began in 2005 in our 9th grade english class, where we exchanged awkward looks and no words. It’s safe to say we had a pretty rocky start, as neither of us had any desire to get to know the other. One specific memory I have consists of my mother and I out shopping, and her asking me, ” Isn’t that the new guy in your class?” to which I confidently replied “Yes, but he is very quiet and we don’t talk.” Oddly enough, the exact same conversation was occurring between Kyle and his mom about me. From the few conversations he and I did have, we also found out that we attended the same church throughout our childhoods… but honestly I have no recollection of him being there, nor does he remember me! After several years of both being in our own relationships, co-exisiting within the same small group of friends, and even dating those same close friends it was not until 2008 it hit me. During our second semester senior year of high school, after several days of helping each other with homework, too many long bus rides for basketball tournaments, and too many phone conversations while watching episodes of “Flavor of Love” I realized shortly after us both choosing to attend The University of Alabama, that maybe the new kid from the 9th grade was pretty cute and not as “quiet” as I thought. I came to the conclusion that I liked his smile, his laugh, and his genuine spirit and that I wasn’t quite sure how I’d ever missed it! From then on, we were pretty much inseparable, making it through 4 years of college, a year of being separated in two different cities while I started PT school in Birmingham, and another year of long distance from California to Alabama. Fast forward to my PT graduation, I was SURE it was the day. Wrong… I stopped trying to guess and accepted the fact that I’d be living in Birmingham for the next several months without him as he wasn’t going to pop THE question anytime soon.

How did he propose?

It was the night of our high school alumni Christmas party and I was preparing myself for the usual, “When are you all getting married?” questions, that made me cringe… As the best response I could ever come up with was, “ask Kyle.” It was rainy, wet, and cold outside, and right before he came to pick me up, he called me and let me know he’d come to the porch with the umbrella, as the weather was bad, and “he didn’t want me to mess my hair up.” Being a little caught off guard, I bragged to my mom, sisters, and aunt that he’d made dinner reservations for before the party and was even coming to pick me up at the door! I got the phone call that he was outside, and came to find him with a white t-shirt and a red blazer. In true form, I pointed out the obvious question that any girl might ask “Why are you wearing a t- shirt?” as I was dressed up for the party! He shushed me and said many kind words that I can’t seem to remember as I was thoroughly confused, a bit shocked, and completely uncertain about what was going on. Next thing I know, he opened his blazer to reveal the infamous t- shirt which read “Will you marry me?” with two check boxes — yes and no! I joked that he was bold to even give me an option! He got down on one knee and the rest is history!!!

Give us your favorite memory from your special day!

  1. Seeing Kyle Moore at the end of the aisle!! 2. Seeing my bouquet! — I lost it both times!

What are you looking forward to most about being newlyweds?

New Beginnings! I’m extremely excited for travel together and making memories. We have an upcoming move rather far away from most family and friends so we will get to explore a new city, new people, and new food together!

Do you have any advice for newly engaged couples?

Enjoy being engaged! Don’t let planning consume you — it’s going to be absolutely fabulous, because at the end of the day you are marrying the love of your life and your forever soul mate!
