Let’s cut clear to the point, planning a wedding can be stressful. But, it doesn’t have to be! Listed below are a few things we suggest to ensure your day runs smoothly so all those wedding jitters can go away.
“Although I do love oceans, deserts, and other wild landscapes it is only mountains that beckon me with the sort of painful magnetic pull to walk deeper and deeper into their beauty. They keep me continuously wanting to know more, feel more, see more. To become more.”
I cried. As we were pulling out of the drive of the sweetest cabin on the most gorgeous river surrounded by the most beautiful of mountains and valleys. Every summer the hubs and I usually trek off to California to one of our favorite places at a friend’s ranch outside of Mammoth Lakes, CA. This year, our plane tickets boasted Montana and our sights set on the small city of Gardiner. Sharing all the details about our love of the west and one of the prettiest national parks in the world.
With the calendar turning the page to one of our fav months we thought what better than sending you a little fun printable showing off a few fun fall date ideas to have with your beau or besties. Feel free to print this cutie off and tape it to your fridge, frame it at home or stick it to your work cork board as a reminder to savor this season. And, there might just be a giveaway for ya at the bottom of this post. Enjoy and Happy Fall friends!

Leaves beginning to fall, hint of cooler weather, and warm colors; all the things I knew I wanted in my engagement shoot! Before I was engaged I always dreamt of having a fall engagement session outdoors surrounded by our favorite things. I’ve been planning out our engagement shoot ever since getting engaged… coming up with a color scheme, the kind of outfits to wear and ideas for props or other special items to include in our photos. The best way I have found to put everything together was to design a mood or styling board! Here at Southern Posies, it’s one of our favorite things to do when designing for each client that walks through our little studio, so putting together a style board for myself was way more fun than I thought!
This post is for all you newly engaged gals. Chances are, you’ve jumped into planning for your big day but have you thought about what happens next? We are giving you a little look into some tips for registering and a few items that will give you a great base to start with!
- Register at multiple places. We recommend some stores with good online shops that friends and family can order from and stores with physical locations near you and your guests for those who would rather go into the store and shop.
- Register for items at all price points. Even though you think no-one but your mom is going to splurge on the KitchenAid or the Roomba, some of your friends and family might want to go in together to get you two one of the more pricey items on your list.
- Make a hearty registry. In the south, chances are, every single one of your aunts, the ladies in the church, and your mom’s best friends are going to want to throw you a shower. Make your registry to accommodate that. There will be folks coming to your wedding that haven’t been to any of your showers that don’t want to be stuck with nothing left to get you. Even if you don’t get everything on your lists, a lot of retailers will give you a percentage off so you can purchase the other things you are wanting after the wedding.
- Don’t forget to say thanks. Stay up to date with your thank you notes so you don’t feel stressed after the wedding to write a ton of them at one time. Etiquette states that thank you notes need to be sent within one month of your wedding so during your free time, sit down with your new hubby and thank the people that have made settling in to your new life together so comfortable.
