If you are struggling finding the perfect gift for dad, we have rounded up a few of our favorites! These cover dads with all interests — grilling, fishing, golfing, fixing things. We hope this helps make Father’s Day a little less stressful this year!
Catherine and Sam met while in the band at Auburn University. Only fitting that they came back down the aisle to a strings version of “War Eagle”– the Auburn Fight Song. Catherine is a pink loving, girly girl and we had so much fun with her color palette and favorite flower – peonies! It’s always a good day when we get to work with color, and an especially good day when that color is pink!
Scroll down to see all the pretty details of Catherine and Sam’s special day!
How did Sam propose?
On my family beach trip to Gulf Shores, AL. I was told that we were doing a surprise family photoshoot for my mom’s upcoming birthday. I truly had no idea that it was coming, and was genuinely surprised. My sister gave no hints, as we even went and got our nails done together and when given a choice between a hot pink polish and a nice light pink, she chose the aggressive hot pink. He even incorporated my nephew, by having him wear a onesie that said, “Aunt Cece, will you marry Uncle Sam?”.
This bouquet!!! Catherine’s choice of color palette and love for peonies were a match made in heaven for us.
What did you obsess over during the planning process?
I am obsessed with flowers. I think they truly make any wedding and I love the versatility in how they can be used in the design of a wedding. From wreaths, to archways, to ceiling installations, I really love them all!
We found this ivy wall in downtown Birmingham when we went to take some photos and cannot even believe how stunning they turned out! Obsessed.
What’s your advice for newly engaged couples?
If you are anything like me, get a planner. Some of us just don’t have that brain for planning and making lists and such, and it is so nice to have someone else guide you through it and make sure you get everything on your to-do list checked off.
Instead of a traditional Groom’s cake, Sam opted for Baby Bites – a Birmingham staple. Let’s just say, this table was one of the most popular spots at the reception!
What was most important to you during planning?
I am a pretty simple girl, so I really wanted it to be beautiful and elegant, while still being true to who we are as a couple. For Sam, he wanted to make sure that his love of food was shown through our menu, For me, I wanted who we are to show through our ceremony choices and the atmosphere we created.

Hoping you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! We thought this lovely wedding would be a sweet nod to the end of a fun red, white and blue filled weekend and cannot wait to show you how we incorporated the tones of blues, merlots and reds with a dose of whites, creams and greens. When Lauren booked us for planning, design and florals we were so excited to hear her color vision and her love for french toile and knew we had to incorporate it throughout the design. Hope you enjoy all the pretties from this beautiful celebration!
Could you have a destination wedding in Georgia without including Georgia peaches in your welcome boxes?
We carried Lauren’s color palette all the way through her wedding even down to the cake. This dusty blue wedding cake was a first for us, and we couldn’t be more obsessed with how it turned out! Confection Perfection knocked it out of the park on this one.

One of the most fun and daunting tasks after getting engaged is creating a gift registry. We’re here to help! Our girls in office have put together a list of items that have gotten the most love from our registry and the things you can leave off. You can also check out our blog post HERE with tips for creating your registry and scroll all the way to the bottom of this post for a registry checklist.
My problem with cooking is all of the prep-work. I cannot stand all of the time it takes to prepare food even before actually cooking it. I just feel like its time that’s wasted. I’m also not very good with knives (literally cut my thumb open this past weekend in the kitchen…) This KitchenAid chopper is my favorite thing we registered for because it takes something I hated spending time on (chopping vegetables) and makes it super easy and QUICK. Sounds silly, but this little gadget brings me so much joy, and allows me to spend that extra time with my hubby and my pup! You will not regret this thing, I promise.
Even though this was a hard decision, I have to say my favorite thing from my registry was a KitchenAid Stand Mixer! I’ve used it make cookies, TONS of banana bread and lots of other fun recipes! I even have a special bowl that turns it into an ice cream maker, and an spiralizer attachment to make zoodles and french fries! Mine is the “Pistachio” color which I love, but it comes in over 20 different color options! In my opinion, this is a must-have for all brides! It is a classic, timeless gift that will definitely be gracing my kitchen counter for years to come.
When my husband and I got married, we were already homeowners and we had a long list of projects we wanted to tackle around our house. We ended up registering at Lowes and Home Depot for gift cards so we could get all the supplies we needed! One of our friends gave us The Newlywed Kitchen cookbook, and we have tried so many of the delicious recipes inside! One of our favorite recipes is the Italian sausage, kale and white bean soup. It is our go to book for when we want to do a little cooking together in the kitchen and by far one of my favorite gifts we received that has gotten the most use!
I didn’t register for any special occasion silver because I’ll be inheriting some beautiful silver someday, but I did still want more formal flatware that could be used everyday and also for special occasions. It’s stainless steel so it’s extremely durable and dishwasher safe, but it has that formal look. Plus each utensil is a different pattern which I had never seen before but I absolutely love it! I highly recommend getting a flatware that can do both!
We registered for more of everyday china that could withstand a lot of daily use. I absolutely love china and have collected so many various antique and specialty pieces along with items that have been passed down from family, so I felt like it made the most sense for us to have everyday items that are literally dishwasher, microwave, freezer and oven safe! The fact that I can plate our meals and pop them into the oven to keep them warm is something I love about these plates and of course the easy peasy clean up gives you more time to spend when hosting guests instead of laboring over the dirty plates at the kitchen sink.
Below is our registry checklist!
